Buba Tee
Meet the Buba Tee, a basic t-shirt that goes great with jeans.
It’s a project that you’ll make in no time at all, and won’t use tons of yarn. To be fair, during my knitting process, I did make 2 Buba prototypes and 8 different sleeve shapes. You, however, get a perfect tee pattern that you’ll make together with me, step by step.
DIFFICULTY: 3 out of 5
This pattern is a step-by-step instruction for the intermediate knitters (number of pages: 37).
The method of making the tee is explained in details in text
and pictures.
If you are not very familiar with all the techniques
used in this pattern, watch the tutorial videos and read
additional articles available at www.konturek.pl.
Note: the additional video tutorials and articles are created in Polish.
Before knitting, read whole instructions.
SIZE GUIDE: XS (S) M (L) XL
Buying the pattern, you get the full chart of sizes.
Measure your bust circumference and choose the correct size from the table (the measurements refer to the sweater’s measurements after blocking, error margin +/- 2 cm 1 in).
- bust circumference: 80-85 (85-90) 90-96 (96-102) 102-110 / 31.5 - 33.5 (33.5-35.5) 35.5-38 (38-40) 40-43.25 in
- tee circumference: 82 (88) 93 (100) 107 cm / 32.25 (34.5) 36.5 (39.5) 42 in
- back lenght: 45 (50) 52 (54) 56 cm / 19 (19.75) 20.5 (21.25) 22 in
In this project you can fit the body’s length.
INSTRUCTIONS:
You will work this tee seamlessly top down in stockinette stitch. Parts which need to be made include the body and sleeves.
Start by making the top part of the tee, i.e. the front and back separately. Working in rows of stockinette stitch you will model the shoulder line, neckline and underarm.
Once the top of the tee is ready, you will join the front to the back. You will then continue to work in rounds using the stockinette stitch. Once the entire body is done, you will bind off the stitches using the I-Cord Bind-Off technique. The final stage of the work is to make the sleeves in short rows and block the tee.
TUTORIALS:
The additional videos will help you to understand the instructions.
Note: additional video tutorials and articles are created in Polish.

• 4 mm US 6m) 16 in short needles for making sleeves
• 3.5 mm US 4m) 16 in short needles for casting on stitches for the sleeves

− 4 pieces of yarn approx. 60 cm 24 in long, preferably in a contrasting colour
GAUGE:
The following gauge was made in rows on 4 mm US 6 needles and measured:
• before blocking: 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4 in = 21 sts x 28 rows in stockinette stitch
• after blocking: 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4 in = 20.5 sts x 27.5 rows in stockinette stitch
Make and block the stockinette stitch gauge. If your swatch is too large use smaller needles or work the stitches tighter. If it is too small, use larger needles or work your stitches more loosely.
