Bubble Baby Blanket
The Bubble Baby Blanket is not only a fun make, but will help a little one’s development. Studies have shown that touch and texture helps to develop motor skills. Gripping, holding and squeezing a variety of textures during the early weeks and months of baby’s life will help children strengthen the muscles in their hands, which in turn will help them to develop stronger hand-eye coordination.
By making this for a little one, you’re actively contributing to their development.
The blanket is crocheted using Joy from African Expressions. Joy is a DK yarn usually crocheted on a 4.00mm crochet hook. Due to the density of the stitch pattern, a 5.50mm hook will be better suited here for better drape.
If you use a standard DK (approx 125m/50g) a smaller hook may be required. Just keep in mind that this will affect the size of the blanket.
