This scarf / cowl combo was designed to be made with Hand Maidens Casbah fingering weight merino and cashmere blend. Any fingering weight yarn could be used, the bloom of cashmere does enhance the bubbles and a blend containing cashmere or alpaca would work best.

A row of buttons are sewn on the end so the scarf can be converted into a cowl. The fun three dimensional bubble design was chosen because it works well with multi-coloured yarn, the bubbles are prominent even with psychedelic colours. The Bubble wrap was designed to ensure both sides look good, and the edges do not roll even without blocking.

As well as knowing the standard knitting stitches, you will need to know, or learn the following techniques:

• Yarn over
• Slip slip knit and knit 2 together
• Slip 2, knit 1, pass 2 slipped stitches over and slip 2 through back of loop, purl 1, pass 2 stitches over - also known as a Central double decrease.

Gauge mentioned is in pattern.

10 buttons are required, size 18L (11mm / 7/16”)
