knit a soccer football for the world cup
12 5-sided pentagons and 20 6-sided hexagons are knitted and sewn together to make a bucky-ball (aka a truncated icosahedron)
all 32 shapes are knitted (flat) on 4 double-ended sock needles
standard size is 7” to 8” across
using double knitting wool and size 3.75mm needles (uk9 us5)
100g one colour and 50g second colour
also need stuffing
can easily be made larger (but will need more wool)
