This is a toe-up sock inspired by Cat Bordhi’s Arch Expansion architecture first published in Knitter’s Spring 2009 as “Spring Thaw”. This pattern simplifies the technique and uses stitches which flow one into the next. The pattern has been test knit and has my knitter’s seal of approval as being fun, fast to knit and easy to take along. The buds you see are not bobbles, popcorns or nupps…they are easy to do and do not require you to flip the fabric of your knitting back and forth. Budding Vines is inspired by my son’s vegetable garden which is running amok with vines, buds and reaching curlicues. Have fun with this!
