Buddleia Blouse
Inspired by a lace blouse from the 1950s the Buddleia Blouse is knitted from the bottom up and consists of 2 t-shaped pieces with a placket opening at the neck and a moss stitch border.
Unlike the original vintage pattern, this modernised version comes in 3 sizes and has updated suggestions for yarn requirements to make vintage knitting more accessible for the modern knitter.
The blouse is designed to be worn with positive ease and the nature of the pattern repeat means the size ranges are generous. If in doubt I suggest sizing up.
The lace pattern features flower motifs, created by wrapping the yarn twice around the needle to create a long stitch, knitting 4 long stitches into the same stitch.
The blouse can be knit in either lace weight yarn or no.8 crochet cotton.
Tension is given at 13 sts to 2 inches and 32 rows (1 pattern repeat) to 3.75” on 3mm needles.
Please note only the smallest size has been tested. Feedback for larger sizes very welcome. Please message me on Ravelry if you have any suggestions, thank you!
