Bright and full of life, the first buds and blossoms of spring are always a welcome sight after the long Northern winter. The Buds and Blossoms socks celebrate the first signs of nature’s rebirth. A simple eyelet lace patterns the leg and the toes of this sock, and are the perfect adornment to an otherwise simple sock.

Sizes
There are three sizes in the pattern: 1 (18cm foot circumference), 2 (20cm foot circumference), 3 (22.5cm foot circumference), and 4 (25cm foot circumference). Note that the sizes listed are measured around the sock, so find your size by measuring your foot and then subtracting 10%.

Yarn and Yardage
Any fingering weight sock yarn can be used for this pattern. The leg section of this sock can be increased as desired once the lace stitch has been knit, but the overall yardage will be increased. The sample sock in the pictures were knit with 24 rnds after the lace section. Approximately 230 - 340 yards are needed.

Notions
DPN’s or circular needles, darning needle, stitch markers, and sock blockers.

Knowledge of cuff down, heel flap and gusset sock construction is needed for this pattern. The lace stitch is very simple, so this pattern is good choice for beginner sock knitters familiar with sock construction who are looking for the next step.
