This hood is designed and distributed in stunned e-l-a-t-e-d celebration of licensed recreational cannabis dispensaries popping up here all over NY state and throughout the US, and with licenses going first to those to whom legal reparations are due.

Those of us who’ve been blazing for most of our lives—on and off ~30 years now since college for yours truly—literally never thought we’d see this day happen.

Here in Hudson Valley NY’s northern Westchester area, this year 2024 we welcomed not one but two outstanding new dispensaries that have directly inspired this cannabis design named for the Budtenders who guide our journey.

Budtender is knit bottom-up in the round from a provisional cast-on with a steek intentionally with no more than seven stitches of any color at a time for zero long floats and bound off stretchy,
then neckline stitches are picked up, worked in the round, and bound off stretchy,
then steek is secured (fellow bistitchuals may adore the crochet method as I do) and cut,
then face opening stitches are picked up and worked forward,
then they are worked back inward at a length to hide the cut steek inside, bound off stretchy, and the hem is seamed down to inside floats.

This pattern design in US knit terms may not be distributed or sold as your own, but feel free to sell a finished item made from it.
