Sometimes even I need to take a break from knitting crazy cabled hats to work on something simple that lets you play around with yarn color. Buffalo Gals is that something. The simple stitch pattern plays nice with hand dyed yarn.

You will see the pattern calls for 3 needle sizes. Instead of increasing after the forehead section a series of larger needles was used to create the loose slouchy hat effect.
