These buffalo plaid pumpkins are worked in the round, then pulled closed to finish. There is an optional stem you can crochet onto the pumpkin, or you can use hot glue and a cork to make the stem. You can use any color combos you’d like. RHSS in claret, cherry red, and black is one good choice. Another is black/heather grey/white. Or carrot, rust, and black.

You can vary the sizing by using a larger hook and thicker yarn, or a smaller hook and thinner yarn. There are written instructions and an easy to follow chart if you prefer that method of following color changes in a pattern.
