The Bugging Out Cardi is a cropped, oversized cardigan with a slightly pulled in waist, big balloon sleeves and a ribbed button trim with a broken fisherman’s rib stitch all over. The body is worked as one then divided into three at the armholes, then the shoulder seams are joined using a three needle bind off, and the sleeves are knit as separate pieces and sewn in.

Using 6mm needles and aran weight yarn combined with the fisherman’s rib makes this lovely and airy whilst also being squishy and soft – the perfect transitional piece! The button trim is worked as a separate piece, so this would cardigan really lends itself to colour blocking on the trim and ribbing.
