Build Your Own Boot Toppers
You can use almost any yarn. Basically you are knitting a tube that is a blank canvas. Cables, beads, stripes, lace… I do all my boot toppers in ribbing—this gives it a bunch of stretch and they won’t fall down.
Learn how to do stripes without the ugly color change, adding beads as you knit or bind off, and a picot bind off. Mix and match the techniques to create your own masterpiece in 4 easy steps!
The sizes I have included will fit most adults. If you wish to make them for a child, just reduce your stitch count by approximately 20%. They will be stretchy, so no need to worry much over if they will fit.
Approximate yarn quantities: (this will vary greatly depending on the length)
Super Bulky (80 yards)
Bulky (100 yards)
Worsted (200 yards)
Sock (250 yards)
