The Beekeeper’s waistcoat received its name from the honeycomb cables running up each side. It is knit flat on circular needles and is worked in one piece with the only seaming for the shoulders. Once the stitches are divided for the armholes, additional balls of yarn are attached so it can still be worked back and forth, rather than needing to put stitches on a holder.

Worked up in super bulky yarn – it is a super-fast knit, with enough detail to keep it interesting through the decreasing stitches and the honeycomb cabling on each side.

This pattern has been test-knit, and is recommended for an advanced beginner to an intermediate level knitter; due to the cables and having several active balls of yarn.

Needles: 9mm/US 13 circular needle (40”/100cm long), cable needle.

Yarn: Super Bulky yarn (5-6 wpi) I used Monkey by Moda Vera (100% Acrylic; 82yds/75m per 3.53oz/100g).

Sizes: 6 months (12m, 18m, 24m).
Yardage: Approximately 135 yards/ 123 meters for 24m size.

Notions: Buttons; 3 for 6/12m sizes, 4 for 18/24
month sizes, four stitch markers, yarn needle.

Gauge: 8.5 sts/13 rows = 4 inches square.
