Brighten up breakfast with this Bumble Bee Egg Cosy. This is a great project for beginner knitters to try as the cosy is knitted flat on straight single pointed needles (not in the round). Two DPNs are used to knit i-cord tubes for the antennae, but you could simply knot on strands of yarn if you prefer. Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the cosy knitted in acrylic DK yarns.

NEEDLES
A pair of 4mm single pointed knitting needles (US 6), and two 3.5mm DPNs (US 4).

RECOMMENDED YARN
Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; a few grammes in each colour.

NOTIONS
Tapestry needle, buttons and white felt fabric scraps for eyes.

SIZES
One size only - 8cm tall not including antennae.

TECHNIQUES
For beginners and above, other techniques used include seaming, knitting stripes, and k2tog decreases.
