Materials:
You will need yarn, 3.50 mm crochet hook, poly-fill for stuffing, tapestry needle, scissors, and 30.00 mm safety eyes! Optionally you may need felt or embroidery floss for facial details.

Let’s talk about yarn!
You will need 170 yards each of brown/black, yellow, and white yarn. You can use any #3 or #4 weight yarn of your choosing. I highly suggest using Mary Maxim’s Ultra Mellowspun yarn because that is what yarn I designed this project with. However, I understand that not everyone has access to dk/#3 weight yarn or perhaps you prefer using #4 weight yarn for all of your projects so I will note that I successfully completed the project with #4 weight yarn and a 3.50 mm crochet hook. Please just understand that if you use a different brand or yarn weight that your finished amigurumi may be slightly smaller or larger!

Final Measurement:
When using a 3.50 mm crochet hook and #4 worsted weight yarn my finished bumble bee measured 11 ½ inches tall and 9 ½ inches wide from wing tip to wing tip. When using a 3.50 mm crochet hook and #3 weight yarn my finished bumble bee measured 8 ½ inches tall and 8 inches wide from wing tip to wing tip.

Gauge is not extremely important for this pattern. You just want your stitches to be tight enough that poly-fill won’t poke out!
