Bumps on a log
Crochet two different textured washcloths that use a variation of the single crochet to create a bumpy texture that is great for scrubbing. The same stitches are used; however, their placement differs between the two options.
The name Bumps on a log reflects the texture created when crocheting this dishcloth.
Tools and Materials:
- 5.00 mm H-8 crochet hook – or appropriate hook for yarn weight used
- tapestry needle and scissors
- worsted or Aran cotton or other yarn suitable for dishcloths (sample used Lily Sugar ‘n Cream in Emerald Isle) – sample of Dishcloth A used 26 g, and sample of Dishcloth B used 23 g
Sizes:
One size (adjustable). Dishcloth A is 18 x 18 cm (approx. 7 x 7 inches), and Dishcloth B is 16 x 16 cm approx. 6 ¼ x 6 ¼ in. Width can be adjusted by increasing or decreasing the number of starting chains. Length can be adjusted by increasing or decreasing the number of pattern repeats (rows 3 and 4).
