Gauge isn’t vital for this project, but a tight fabric is recommended.

If this toy is going to a young child or infant I would suggest not using safety eyes, but instead use some black yarn and embroidering the eyes as well as the nose and mouth.

Also if giving this toy to small children please secure the bow firmly to the body, and do not use a pompom for the tail, instead embroider a tail on using a fluffy yarn.
