Bunny Apron
Busy bunnies need aprons for gardening and kitchen work, don’t they?
This simple design features a garter border and crochet ties. It is worked flat from the bottom up with decreases to narrow the shape before and at the waist. A light fingering weight yarn is used to keep the apron from being too bulky over a dress.
This apron is designed to fit over my bunnies who wear dresses (based on Julie Williams Seasonal Dresses pattern) knit with fingering weight yarn and a 2.5mm needle.
These aprons can be easily resized and embellished with duplicate stitch, colorwork, crochet or a pocket. Maybe an apron for every season and holiday?!!
To add a pocket, pick up 11 stitches 2 rows above the garter hem border. Knit 12 rows of stockinette and finish with a knit bind off. Sew the side seams to the apron. As an alternative, a patch pocket could be knit separately and sewn on.
