This hat is knit in the round starting with a simple purled brim and followed by stockinette for the rest of the hat. The ears are worked in pieces and sewn together and then sewn onto the top of the hat. Sizes range from 0-6months to child size. All sizes are approximate based on my models! My 2.5-year-old daughter is modeling the toddler size in the photos.

If you don’t want to use super bulky yarn, try doubling an aran or worsted weight to get the same effect, just make sure to check your gauge. The thickness of the yarn is important to get the ears to stand up. Any super bulky yarn will work, but I had good luck with Kraemer Perfection Super Bulky.
