Bunny in the Woods socks feature a cute bunny and three spruce trees on the leg and bunny footprints on the foot of the sock. The bunny, the spruce trees and footprints are knitted in ‘double purl stitches’ as guided in the pattern.

The socks are knitted in the round from the cuff down. The cuffs are knitted in 1 twisted knit, 3 purl rib. The socks feature a reinforced French heel.

For the bunny, the spruce trees and the bunny footprints, there are only charted instructions, no written, row-by-row instructions.

Techniques

Old Norwegian cast-on / German Twisted cast-on is recommended to be used as the cast-on method. The last stiches of the foot are bound off using Kitchener stitch.

Sizes

Two adult sizes with finished sock foot circumference of 19 (21) cm / 7 ½ (8 ¼) inches. Choose a size that gives around 2 cm / ¾ inches of negative ease in foot circumference. The foot length is adjustable.

Materials needed

Yarn
1 (1) ball of Säie Sock Classic | After the Storm | 75% superwash wool, 25% nylon | Yardage 420 m / 459 yds per 100 g (or 300 (360) m / 330 (390) yds of similar yarn)

Please note that if you want to alter the size of the socks, more yarn may be required.

Needles
2.5 mm / US 1.5 DPNs or circular needle for small circumference knitting.

Stitch markers, a tapestry needle for the Kitchener stitch and weaving in the yarn ends.
