These adorable mittens are sized for ages toddler - Grandpa. They make great sock puppets! The pompon tails are optional, and the ears can be tacked in place if needed. All added details are on the back of the hand, meaning nothing gets in the way of dexterity.

Contrasting Color: DK weight, 19-24 yds (17-22 m).

Trim Yarn: DK or Worsted weight, 2 yds (1.8 m). This can be left over from another project. No need to buy a whole skein…unless you want to!

A note on mitten length: Hands are all kinds of shapes! I highly recommend measuring the hands you’re knitting for. For example, my hands are about an inch shorter than the length usually suggested for my hand circumference.

Samples shown are Size Adult Medium (cream) and Size 2-4 Years (sand). The Adult Medium mittens were knitted using size 6 (4.0 mm) needles for the ribbing as well as the body of the mittens. The 2-4 Year mittens used size 4 (3.5 mm) needles for the ribbing.
