Bunny Rattle
This adorable rattle is a quick and simple knit. It doesn’t take much yarn, making it a great stash busting project.
An updated version of the pattern was added October 2020 and includes directions for the four versions shown. It can also easily be customized for your own version! Pattern also includes a picture diagram of the rattle adding process as well as photos showing the different ear options.
Measurements:
Approx. 10” around the head and 9” tall including the ears. Measurements will vary depending on stuffing.
Needles:
-US Size 3 (3.25mm) DPNs
Yarn:
-Knit Picks Swish Worsted Weight yarn- one ball of each color for version being worked.
Version 1: MC: Bare
Version 2: MC: Dove Heather, CC1: Bare
Version 3: MC: Dove Heather, CC1: Bare, CC2: Wonderland Heather
Version 4: MC: Bare, CC1: Green Tea Heather
-For all versions: scrap of dark gray yarn (Swish Worsted in Marble Heather was used for samples)
Notions:
-Yarn needle
-Stitch markers
-Rattle (cat toys work well)
-Stuffing
Gauge:
24 sts and 32 rows= 4” in Stockinette St
Notes:
-Directions are given to make four versions of the rattle and can easily be customized. If making one of the versions pictured, note the colors listed under Yarn for each version. -The rattle is worked in the round starting with the handle and stuffed before finishing. The ears are also worked in the round except the inner ear, which is worked flat.
