Bunny Wishes Socks
This wee little bunny, making wishes with dandelion fluff, was first introduced on a pair of mittens. I could not resist adding it to a pair of socks too!
These socks are knit cuff down, increasing stitches and changing needle size for the colourwork on the leg and toe to accommodate the less stretchy fabric of stranded knitting.
I use a smaller needle for the rib, heel, toe, and plain stockinette sections and change to a larger needle for the colourwork. If your gauge is the same for both stranded and plain stockinette then switching needles may not be necessary but I do recommend increasing stitches.
The cuff is a Mock Cable Stitch and the heel is a slipped stitch heel flap and the toe is grafted together with Kitchener stitch.
YARN USED in photo:
MC: Crafty That Way Crafty Sock fingering yarn, 80% superwash merino wool/ 20% nylon, 420 yds/115g, Moonlit Sky
CC: Crafty That Way Crafty Sock fingering yarn, 80% superwash merino wool/ 20% nylon, 420 yds/115g, Woodland Friends
Colour choices are a very personal thing but I would recommend using colours with a high contrast to get the most out of the chart colourwork.
A 100g skein of the main colour and a 50g skein of the contrast colour will be plenty to make both socks.
