Bunsie the ferret aka polecat
This is a .pdf crochet pattern, written in standard American crochet terms.
Meet Bunsie, a crochet ferret or polecat. (Polecats are the wild ancestors of ferrets.) With this easy pattern, you can even make a crochet version of your own ferret.
Size
5.7 inch/ 14,5 cm when made with worsted weight yarn.
Materials
For this animal you’ll need worsted weight yarn and an E US/3.5 mm crochet hook. You’ll need three colours of yarn, I have used brown (1/4 of a 100 yard skein), oatmeal (1/8) and a bit of white for the muzzle. The quantities are estimates. For the eyes I’ve used 8 mm animal eyes. I crocheted a nose with a brown strand, split in half and used hook 2.5 mm (B US). You will also need fibrefill and pellets for a bit of extra weight in the body (I use Hama beads). Lopi colour numbers: 0867 and 1419 and 0051.
The crochet pattern contains
An intro with useful info. List of materials, tools and accessories needed. Brand and colour numbers of the needed yarn. A clear and colour coded description of how to crochet and assemble the animal. Pictures and illustrations to help getting everything right. All my patterns are text edited for correct English and have been tested by an experienced crocheter before publishing.
PREFERRED BRAND/YARN
Istex Lett lopi. I strongly recommend using a fuzzy yarn because it gives the best result.
Gauge is unimportant for this pattern. If the pieces are crocheted tightly enough, they will not gape visibly when stuffed. You can make a little test swap to be sure.
