Bunty Cowl
Do you sometimes watch “Father Brown” on TV and if so, do you like Penelope Bunty Windermere?
I like her very much. She’s seems to be always happy and she’s dressed so colorful - and she inspired me to design this little cowl.
Bunty is a precious little cowl.
The perfect pattern for “this” single skein of yarn you bought because you liked the color so much. Add a leftover to it or a mini skein und you go.
You can choose between two nice lace patterns and you can play with colors.
The cowl is worked seamlessly in the round.
The lace patterns are both charted and fully written out.
Materials
The cowl requires approx. 100 gr (437 yds / 400 m) of Fingering, Light fingering or Lace weight yarn as MC and approx. 20 gr (88 yds / 80 m) of the same yarn weight as CC
One US 3 / 3.25 mm circular needle (or size to obtain gauge), 32 “ / 60 cm long, stitch marker, tapestry needle
Gauge
26 sts x 40 rows = 4 x 4 “/ 10 x 10 cm in stockinette stitch (after blocking)
Finished size after blocking (circumference x height)
21” / 52 cm x 20” / 50 cm
I made 3 cowls as samples
Sample 1 (the blue one) and Sample 2 (the speckled one) both used Smooth Sock by Wollen Yarn, Fingering, 75% Merino, 25% Nylon, each 1 full skein of 400 m / 100 gr as MC and each 1 mini skein of 80 m / 20 gr as MC
Sample 3 (the dark grey one) used On Stage Long Métrage by Nature’s Luxury, Fingering, 50% 30% Silk, 20% Camel, 1 full skein of 400 m / 100 gr as MC and 1 left over of a speckled yarn (not sure, but prob. La Bien Aimee), approx. 80 m / 20 gr
