Buongiorno, good morning, hello to spring and summer that is around the corner on the northern hemisphere:)

Soon it’s time to start using a lovely summer-top and it’s certainly time to start planning for the wardrobe for warmer days.

My Buongiorno-top will be a lovely addition to wear with shorts, skirts, trousers… and as one of my testers said; underneath a jacket until she can be wearing it all on its own.

Sizes
Sizes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8.
Finished chest measurements after washing/blocking and worked at gauge are: 76/84.5/94/103/112/121/130/140 cm = 30/33.25/37/40.5/44/47.5/51/55” The sample is worked in size 1, with approximately 2.5 cm/1” of negative ease.

Materials
Yarn: I worked my top using ”Summerlite 4ply” from Rowan, in the colourway 443 (Vintage claret).
This fingering weight yarn comes in balls of 50 gr/1.76 oz and 175 m/191 yards.
Of this specific yarn you will need approximately 450/510/570/630/700/775/850/925 m = 490/555/625/690/765/850/930/1010 yards. Needles: circular needle, size 3 mm/US2.5 for the body, as well as the armhole/neck-edges.
Straight (or circular needle), size 3 mm/US2.5 for the triangles.

Gauge
28 sts and 36 - 38 rounds/rows in stockinette sts/lace-pattern
= 10 x 10 cm/ 4 x 4”.

Construction
The top is worked bottom-up and seamlessly.
The lower body is worked in-the-round to underarms.
Work is divided in 4 equal pieces and the 4 triangles are worked back-and-forth and in separate pieces.
The armhole and neck-edges are worked in rib-pattern from picked-up and knit sts.

The pattern
The lace-pattern is charted, as well as written out, round-by-round.
There is a schematic.
Measurements are metric, as well as imperial.
