Fleece Artist has some yummy yarn dyed just for this project ! Very exiting :)
Inspiration:
Burly rocks a vintage flare. A mid-century modern inspired design utilizing boucle yarn. I love that era of design, from furniture to clothing. Mid-century modern screams the 3 “C” of design: cool, cozy, and comfortable. Burly coat is just that.
Guess what? Curly locks are back in fashion! Yes, a textural feast. They add warmth, fuzz and delight. To my excitement, Fleece Artists brought curly locks back for all of Us to enjoy. I was able to collaborate with Ruth and Jana to bring this amazing idea to all of you. You must browse through all the colour combo options, so gorgeous!
This pattern features this incredible Curly-locks fiber, giving this garment dimension, softness, and bounce. As a backdrop we chose a wonderful, sturdy DK in complimentary colours. Fear no more! the dreaded cutting of a steek. The yarns hold together beautifully.
The “Burly” name reminds me of a grumpy Grandpa, but sweet and kind. Sitting in his oversized Eames chair with a cigar in his hand looking through a daily paper wearing this jacket.
As always, I had to hooliganize the design, by giving the garment high collar, cool wooden buttons and a modern oversized animal print. I am digging this “funky” reimagined look. Do you?
