Burrasca wrap

Burrasca means storm in Italian. The storm that is often associated with the sea.
Burrasca is a large wrap knit in two pieces. Both ends have triangles that are worked first using the contrasting colors in opposite orders. Half of the stitches are bound off
and the knitting continues in bias. Garter ridges separate the lace panels. The pieces are then joined together using a three needle bind off.
Finished measurements
One size, length 184 cm / 72.5”, width 50 cm / 19.75”
Yarn requirements
Decida Extra Merino (80 % Merino wool,
20 % polyamide, 365 m / 100 g)
MC: 2 skeins or 730 m / 800 yds of fingering weight yarn.
Shown in color Anthracite.
Fade set, 6 skeins 20 g each (C1 – C6)
C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, C6: 1 skein or 66 m / 72.25 yds of fingering weight yarn for EACH color.
NOTE that the sample, as well as the testers projects, used almost all MC. Prepare with a third skein or go down in needle size to avoid the risk of running out of yarn.
Gauge
21 sts x 32 rows = 10 cm /4” in Stormy waves lace in bias after blocking.
(NOTE: Gauge is not crucial, but it will affect finished dimensions and yarn consumption.)
Needles
3.5 mm (US 4) - 100 cm / 40” circular needles, or as required to obtain gauge.
Notions
1 st marker, scrap yarn or spare cable / st holder, tapestry needle.
Optional: 26 stitch markers for pattern repeats.
The pattern is both charted and written.
