Bushy Tailed Squirrel
Easy squirrel pattern using basic crochet stitches in US terminology in pdf (6 pages)!
Finished Squirrel is ~7.5 inches tall using a 3.5 mm hook.
Difficulty: Intermediate
Stitches used:
ch - chain
SC - single crochet
HDC - half double crochet
TC - triple crochet
inc - 2 SC together in 1 st
dec - decrease SC from 2 SC to 1 SC
slst - slip stitch
Materials:
hooks 3.5mm
3 color yarns (worsted or aran). I used loops & threads impeccable aran and chocolate brown, and tried out white, pumpkin, brown, and heather! A little black or dark brown yarn is needed to embroider the paws & nose.
scissors, tapestry needle
polyfill
safety eyes (10 mm). Alternatively these can be embroidered.
The assembly takes a bit of time. I’ve included some pictures as a guide.
You can make squirrels in various colors and with varying nose colors! There’s a lot of room for variations. I included some patterns for accessories as well (beanie, scarf and bowtie). The acorns pattern is not included.
I hope you enjoy this little guy. Let me know if there are any errors/questions!
Please credit pattern accordingly. Also the tail is a modification of a pattern from les.mailles.du.rocher, so credit this crocheter as well! Thanks!
