Busty Mermaid
This was by FAR the largest, most intimidating and most rewarding pattern that I’ve published so far.
I was commissioned to create a “floppy breasted” mermaid for an anniversary gift to a mom of three to celebrate how beautiful her mom body was; and it was terrifying! I was so worried she would look less ‘motherly’ and more goofy, but I absolutely couldn’t be more in love with the finished product! She looks magnificent in any color combination and has a wonderful way of being both hilarious and undoubtedly gorgeous.
Using worsted weight yarn and a 4.0 mm hook, she works up to around 13 inches tall, but I’d love to see your creation if you use a different yarn weight and corresponding hook size.
Materials Needed:
-Worsted weight yarn in the colors you choose for her skin, hair, and tail (less than a full skein total)
-4mm hook
-Polyfil
-12mm safety eyes
-Tapestry Needle
If you get stuck or have any questions while working this lady up, please feel free to contact me either through Etsy or by email bleutickcrochet@gmail.com .
