Busy Bee
Kids love to dress up! Simple stripes make a bold statement. This pattern is available individually, or as part of the Imagination Collection.
The Imagination Collection includes four animal sweater, each with 7 sizes (3 months - 6T), two toy patterns, two full photo tutorials, in addition to other links, tips, and tricks.
Busy Bee is knit in one piece to the armholes. After the sleeves are knit and seamed, the hood is picked up and knit, with short row shaping so it won’t fall off. Extra height in the hood is taken in by the ribbing to create poofy cheeks. The buttonband is knit on as you go. Antennae are picked up and knit at the end.
Children’s heads and lengths can vary widely—measure a sweater that fits your child well, choose the size based on the chest measurement, and then alter lengths if necessary. The hood size is independent of the body size.
Finished chest: 21(23, 24, 24.5, 25, 26, 27.5)”/ 53(58.5, 61, 62, 63.5, 66, 70) cm

Yarn Notes: This strong light worsted cotton gives a drapey, lightweight summer sweater. A washable, worsted weight cotton or wool could also be used, giving a sturdier, warmer, garment.
