Busy Holiday Beaver Ornament
Busy Holiday Beavers!
These hard working, humble little animals are carrying their own little yule logs (they promise not to nibble on your holiday tree)!
NOTE:Pattern is written in English and includes 8 pages of full instructions including many photos to assist in construction; a list of supplies and techniques required and abbreviations.
Yarn:
A - #3 light weight in beige or light brown – Body & Head, Arms, Feet, and Ears
B - #3 light weight in dark brown – Tail and log
C - #3 light weight in green – Holly leaves (use as many greens as desired)
D - #3 light weight in colors of choice – Beech Leaves (use as many colors as desired)
E - #3 light weight in red or pink – Heart
F - Red Heart Scrubby Sparkle – Hat Band
G - #3 light weight in colors of choice – Hat
H - #3 light weight in colors of choice – Flowers (use as many colors as desired)
Scraps for face
Needles:
Two 3.00mm straight and two 2.75mm straight
Other Supplies:
Stuffing
Cord or ribbon for hanging
Small beads or pompoms for berries and flower centers
Skills Required:
Cast on
Knit
Purl
Decrease
Increase
Cast off
Very basic embroidery
Abbreviations:
St - Stitch
K - Knit
P – Purl
St st - Stocking Stitch
K2tog - Knit 2 together
P2tog - Purl 2 together
Skp - Slip 1 stitch, Knit 1 stitch, pass the slipped stitch over the knit stitch decreasing one stitch
Sk2p - Slip 1 stitch, knit 2 stitches together, pass the slipped stitch over the K2tog stitch decreasing two stitches
Pfb - Purl into the front and the back of the next st increasing one stitch
Kfb - Knit into the front and the back of the next st increasing one stitch
Ktbl - Knit through back loop of the stitch
M1 - Make 1 st by picking up the loop between the stitches on the left and right hand needles & knitting into the back of it
Garter Stitch - Knit every row
