Butter Side Down
Pay What You Choose: In the interest of making my patterns financially accessible to all knitters while still honouring the time and work that went into creating them, I’m including ‘Pay What You Choose’ tiered pricing for my patterns. You may notice an increase in the baseline price; that is because I believe it represents a fair amount of compensation for my time and craft. If you can afford the full price, I am glad; if you cannot, please choose a price you are willing to pay, no questions asked. Tiered pricing works on the honour system and I will never know your financial ability, but I would very much like designing knitting patterns to be sustainable for me. Here is a list of the coupon codes and the discounts they represent:
No Code: $7.00 CAD
Orchestra: 10% off
BoxSeats: 20% off
Mezzanine: 30% off
The inspiration for the name of this simple, reversible brioche hat came from a song by That 1 Guy called ‘How’s ‘bout Them Holes In the Moon’ about… a lot of things, partly how bread always lands butter side down. This is a fantastic project if you’d like to learn brioche knitting AND ‘helix knitting’ for jogless stripes in one easy go! You can choose to make it slouchy or short by how many rounds you knit.
To knit this hat, you will need:

Set of 4.5 mm dpns (size 7 US)
Stitch markers
Tapestry needle
Gauge:
13 sts = 10 cm/4 inches in brioche stitch
