Butterflies have significant and special meaning to me. They symbolize hope, joy, change, new beginnings, color, rebirth, freedom, and transcendence.

This beautiful baby sundress is the first pattern release in a ‘series’ of Butterfly Allusions designs!

The ‘idea’ of creating this design ‘series’ was inspired by something my Dad told me when I was about 4 years old and it has stayed with me for over 40 years!!! These designs are created in his memory!

Depending on yarn choices and colors, this sundress can be ‘dressy’, ‘casual’, ‘sporty’, or ‘elegant’…..the possibilities are endless!! Regardless of ‘style’, the special baby girl in your life is sure to be a smash hit in this sundress!!

The words that inspired this design ‘series’: “Place your hopes, dreams, and wishes upon the wings of a butterfly and set it free. If the butterfly returns then your desires were meant to be and will be yours. If the butterfly does not return, all is not lost. It simply means that perhaps your desires need a bit of adjusting” ~~ E. Lewis
