There are two versions of the pattern. Both contain the same 10 butterflies but they are closer together in the smaller version.

The body of this shawl is knit on the bias. Therefore, it should be made from yarn that will hold a block. A line of single crochet is used around the edge of the center to provide a foundation and the correct number of stitches for the border.

I used almost two full skeins of Fino (1760 yards) for the large version.
