Butterfly Garden Mandala
As shown, I used Aunt Lydia’s Classic 10 Crochet Thread, and a 1.5 mm hook. Instructions are given for attaching to a metal craft ring. You can stop at 6, 8, 10, 12, or 14 inches- you will need a craft ring of the size desired. You will also need scissors, and a tapestry needle for weaving in ends.
One of the things I most enjoy about making mandalas is playing with colors. Use as many or a few as you like! It always amazes me how totally different the same mandala pattern can look when done in different colors! That being said, I do recommend you have some black for the butterfly bodies. I used 10 different colors, plus black.
I have included pictures for each rnd, with step-by-step pictures for the more complicated parts. The pattern totals 8 pages long.
Above all else, I hope you enjoy making this mandala. It was quite a project for me to get the pattern right, but I hope you end up as happy with the finished result as I am!
