Butterfly Mitts
These sweet Butterfly Mitts remind us that all stages (from caterpillar to the final form) are important. The mitts are worked in the round from the cuff up.

Yarn Weight 1
Finished Size 6¾“ hand circumference at base.
Yarn Harrisville Designs Shetland (100% pure virgin wool; 217 yd 198 m/1¾ oz 50 g): #66 melon (orange; MC) and #49 charcoal (gray; CC), 1 skein each.
Needles Size 3 (3.25 mm): set of double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Markers (m); stitch holder; tapestry needle; embroidery needle; DMC Six-Strand Cotton Embroidery Floss (100% cotton; 8¾ yd 8 m/skein): #947 (orange) and #741 (gold), 1 skein each.
Gauge 26 sts and 38 rnds = 4” in St st.

The embroidery is worked using the contrasting color yarn and the embroidery floss. Divide six-strand floss into groups of three strands for working embroidery.
