2 sizes of Butterfly motifs to knit. Uses small amounts of yarn, 5 yards for the smaller and 10 yards for the larger, also needs about 2 yards for the body.

Smaller Butterfly - 3” by 2”
Larger Butterfly 4 1/2” by 3 1/4”

I cord edged YO lace, knit modularly in 2 wing pieces that are joined by the body, which is picked up, knitted and then crochet chained together. Additional embellishments of beads can be stitched or crocheted on.

Some suggested uses: hair ornament, cell phone charm, princess wand decoration, flower arrangement adornment, brooch, pin, shawl pin, necklace, applique, greeting card trim, baby mobile doo-dad, refrigerator magnet.

Fingering weight cotton from sheepsegyptiancotton.etsy.com in tones of purple

Bulky 2 ply silk from White Rabbit fibers (whiterabbitfibers.com) custom dyed by Funhouse Fibers (funhousefibers.com) in Vivid blue with shades of black. Body yarn is 1 yard of tonal orange and 2 yarns of #5 Perle cotton in black.
