This hat was designed as a stash buster. My goal was to use up some of the worsted weight yarn I inherited from my grandmother. I used Turkish tile patterns as my inspiration. It’s a quick easy knit with a fun design.

The pattern instructions are clear and easy to work, taking all the stress out of knitting a colorwork hat. The pattern features detailed written instructions, photos, and complete charts.

Size:
Size: 22 inches (56 cm) circumference, 8-8.5 inches (20.5-21.6 cm) depth

Gauge:
6 stitches = 1 inch (2.5 cm) in stranded work
6 rows = 1 inch (2.5 cm)
24 stitches and 24 rounds=4 inches (10 cm)

Note: This is tighter gauge than normal for worsted weight yarn. If the gauge is too hard to get with worsted weight, use DK weight yarn instead

Needles:
US#7 (4.5 mm) DPN
US#8 (5mm) 16, 20 or 24” (40, 50, or 60 cm) circular needles
US#8 (5 mm) DPN (set of 5)

Ribbing is worked on smaller needles.
Adjust needle size as necessary to obtain proper gauge.

Yarn/Materials: Worsted weight yarn or DK weight yarn
3 colors – 1 skein each. 100% wool
