Butterscotch Ripple Cowl
The Butterscotch Ripple Cowl was designed for A Little Knitty (my wonderful, amazing local yarn shop) to be used for the PNW Yarn Crawl.
The Butterscotch Ripple Cowl features ridged stripes worked with post stitches in a fun, bold chevron. The pattern is easy to modify for length and width, but is written out for single-loop (12” x 24”) or double-loop (7.5” x 54”) options. Basic instructions for modifying the length and width are included in the PDF.
The cowl is worked flat, blocked (preferably), and then seamed to form a loop. This pattern also includes a video tutorial showing how to do the increases and decreases to create the chevron shape.
This pattern uses sport-weight yarn. I used Queensland Collection United in Lead, Aconite, and Robin’s Egg. You will need 2 balls for your main color (500 yards total), and 1/2 ball for each of your coordinating colors (125 yards each). You will also need a size F crochet hook, stitch markers (not strictly required but highly recommended), tapestry needle, blocking mat, and pins (again, optional but recommended).
