Buy You A Beer
Join me at the Biergarten for a cold, sudsy beer of your choosing. This project takes about an hour to an hour and a half to complete, and leaves you in possession of the cutest miniature overflowing Stein glass. The instructions are for knitting flat, but can be easily adapted for working in the round. The finished object measures approximately 2” tall. Additional instructions provide the necessary steps for scaling to Medium (2.5”) and Large (3.5”) versions.
NOTIONS:
Pair US 6 / 4.00 mm DPNs or circular needles
Embroidery needle
MATERIALS:
1 g Gray Yarn (Heavy Worsted or Aran Wt.)
3 g Beer Yellow Yarn (Worsted Wt. or Aran Wt.)
1g Plied White Yarn (Worsted Wt.)
Poly-fill
GAUGE:
Different size needles and yarn can be substituted. Gauge is not important for this project so long as the yarn used is a bit more bulky than recommended for the needles you have chosen. If your fabric is see-through enough for the stuffing to bleed through, consider using shredded yarn in a matching color to stuff.
SKILLS:
Basic knitting technique, including stockinette stitch and simple increases/decreases, I-cord (optional). Instead of making an I-cord, you can build a simple crochet chain and weave a threaded needle through it a couple of times to reinforce a rigid form. Basic seaming and embroidery.
