Hand-painted and other similarly variegated yarns are very pretty to look at and interesting to knit with, but it can be difficult to find a pattern other than stockinette that shows off the yarn as well as the stitches. Additionally, there are times when plain stockinette can create an undesirable colour patterning effect in your project. My goal in this design was to use stitches that take advantage of the colour changes so that the yarn complements the pattern, and vice versa. Whether your colour repeats are as long as a round or two, or as short as a few stitches, this pattern will compliment nicely.
