My blanket measures 12×12, dinky I know, but its the perfect size for a 1-2lb baby, just perfect. I am a fairly fast crocheter so I did complete this in under 3 hours. Yours may measure more or less, as we all have different tensions.

You can use any dk weight yarn, and a 4mm hook and I only used about 70g, for this pattern I have used Stylecraft Bambino which is super soft, it splits a little but the stitch definition and the texture of the yarn out weighs the fact it splits.

You can also make your blanket as big as you fancy by starting to decrease as and when the height/width of your blanket is how you want it.
