This pattern starts off with a simple 18 stitch cable pattern. You then cast off and work along the long edge with the cable pattern and a lovely simple wrap pattern of several stitches at a time for the middle of the blanket. You then knit another cable edge seperately and sew it on.

My blanket measures 40 inches by 35 inches. The gauge is not necessary for this blanket because you could use any size needle, any size yarn and end up with either smaller or bigger blanket.

I bought 2 x 400g balls of Hayfield Bonus Aran and used 1 and a half balls to complete the blanket.
