This pattern is for a 16” pillow cover. The pattern is Cable and Rib Stitch. It is knit in the round so there is no sewing of seams. You start with the end with the button opening. You knit the button section twice with a purl row between the two sections. This creates a fold for the two sections to lie back to back. This adds more body for the opening and the buttons. I use tortoise shell buttons but there are so many fun choices of buttons to create the look you want! When you have knit the pattern rows to the size you are making, you use the three needle bind off. It is my favorite way to bind off and creates a perfect finish!
This pattern requires a size 9 circular needle that is 24” long.
2 skeins of worsted weight wool yarn works great such as Cascade 220 or Paton’s Classic Wool.
