The original was made with Aran weight on 5mm (US8) needles, but you can use almsot any weight of yarn with the appropriate needle size - you’ll need about 220m (250yds) in the weight of your choice. .

You can knit it with straight needles if you like.

Great for last-minute gift knitting.
