Cable Brannigan Shawl
Although, there is only one size available, the pattern is easily modified to make the shawl wider or longer -- you will just need more yarn. It is also easy to know your yarn usage: this pattern calls for 4 balls/so it is 2 balls to the middle. If you use 6 balls and increase more for extra width, then it is three balls to the middle. Of course, if you have a scale, this becomes a non-issue.
This is a quick knit on US 13 needles and no need to go back and add edging after the body of the shawl is knit. The edging is knit along with the body of the shawl as you go and at the end the two ends of the I-cord are just joined together. When you change balls of yarn, do so right next to the I-cord, so all ends can be hidden inside the I-cord. This makes this knit fun and uncomplicated. Life should always be fun and uncomplicated. Don’t you think?
