This sumptuous cabled throw is knit in nine separate blocks, which are joined with mattress stitch and finished with a knit-on cable and rib border.

The sample shown is made in worsted weight. The size can be adjusted by using a different weight of yarn, using the appropriate sizes of needles. Extra yardage is needed for thicker yarn, and less yardage for thinner yarn.

Straight needles are sufficient for knitting the individual blocks; circular needles are required for the border. Additional needles: two double point needles for the I-cord cast on; a much smaller circular needle for picking up loops; a needle one size smaller for the I-cord bind off; a needle one size larger for binding off the border.

The pattern consists of two pdf files, one containing stitch charts and pattern information (15 pages), and the other full written line-by-line directions (12 pages).

The cable designs are chosen from my pdf stitch collection series “The Cable Factor,” Volumes 1, 2, & 3. There are a couple of new secondary panels and a wonderful border that I designed especially for this piece.
