Pattern description from Knitting for Dummies: “This Cable Hat with Pompoms (see Figure 9-15) is a straightforward hat that uses only one kind of cable: a 6-stitch cable twisting to the right. It begins with a simple knitted rectangle just like the Three-Way Hat presented in Chapter 6. In this version, you make the front and back as separate pieces and seam them along the top and sides. You can see it pictured in the color insert.”

Dimensions: 21 inches in diameter (each piece measures 10.5 inches wide and 8 inches high)

Materials: One 3.5-ounce/100-gram skein (approximately 132 yards) Cascade Pastaza (50% lama, 50% wool) or equivalent yarn, one pair each of size 7 and 9 needles, a pompom maker.
