This pattern is based on my Cable Hearts carseat blanket and features the same asymmetrical heart on the front panel. When furnishing our spare bedroom during lockdown I thought of using the chart from the blanket pattern to make these two cushions in silver and graphite DK acrylic. The project received a warm welcome, so I decided to write it down as a separate pattern. I mirrored the heart on one of the cushions, and with this pattern I offer you both versions.
This pattern is presented as 8 page downloadable pdf and includes charts, written instructions and photos of various stages of the work.
Pattern calls for DK yarn and 3-4mm needles (I work DK on 3mm and I knit fairly loose, yet you might prefer using 4mm).
You will also need cable needle, tapestry needle for assembly, safety pins, stitch markers (if you use them) and 4 buttons. This cushion cover is designed for 45cm square pad.
For this cushion cover you will need minimum of 2 colours, although you can work in 3 or even 4 colours, so this is a great project to use up some half skeins from your stash.
For the button hole panel you will need approx 105 m;
For the Heart - approx 95m;
For the front panel background and back panel - 475m;
Just for the front panel background - approx 156m.
I used Paintbox DK both cotton and acrylic for my prototypes, as well as Stylecraft Special DK and happy with all of my cushions. Yarn of course can be substituted, as long as you have the required yardage to complete the project.

Massive thanks to Olive olivetree who offered to test knit for me again, as well as Val Dawes and Cindy Roth.

Please get in touch via the email provided at the end of the pattern if you have any questions, as I always offer support on all my patterns and would love to hear from you whether it is a question, feedback or picture of the finished project.

This pattern is for personal use only and not for your financial gains.
